go see it: black swan

finally! i've been waiting for this to come out since i first heard the buzz months ago. natalie portman. i dont even know what to say. i was convinced that she WAS an actual ballerina, not just another actress in a tutu. bravo. i would say 'best actress, in the bag" but it may be too 'weird' for any major awards or for mainstream audiences to appreciate it. rodarte's swan lake costumes were perfect. they were proper ballet costumes and stuck to the tradition and crafstmanship of tutu making but they were still SO rodarte. darren aronofsky got me again. go see it.

for colored girls

i can't wait to see this! based on the play "for colored girls who have considered suicide when the rainbow is enuf" by ntozake shange, directed by tyler perry. with thandie newton, anika noni rose, kerry washington, loretta devine, janet jackson (who looks bomb), whoopi goldberg, and...get ready for it...phylicia rashad (my head explodes).
